You're Invited to Comfort and Joy, an Art Sale Event to Benefit The AIDS Network
Join The AIDS Network for a very special evening of fabulous art, and help us to continue our mission to support folks living with and affected by HIV in our communities.
Featuring the dynamic photography of our generous donor Kirk Johnston, this is your opportunity to network, enjoy some refreshments and buy this beautiful art while support our cause, prior to our public e-bay auction of the remaining pieces.
Kirk Johnston has been interested in photography since he was a teenager. An image from his first roll of film was entered into competition at the Red River Exhibition Provincial Open Photo Competition in Winnipeg and he received an honourable mention for his inaugural effort. Since his early retirement in 2001 he has greatly expanded his photographic horizons. He has been active in the Latow Photographers Guild, Arts Burlington and the Burlington Art Centre for the last number of years. Photographic competitions at the club, city, regional and national levels have been met with considerable success.
Major areas of interest are Character Portraits which represent pseudo-documentary perspectives, Abstract interpretations of everyday subjects, Travel photography emphasizing colour and texture of different cultures and the people of these cultures, Old Car Parts which view specific parts of classic or hot rod vehicles as greater than the sum of those parts, and Landscape photography that presents a different point of view.
Selected works of Johnston's will be available for purchase at this special event, with all proceeds benefiting The AIDS Network. The event will take place at 140 King St E where The AIDS Network's space is located. Refreshments are included, and tickets can be purchased online through Snapd . Tickets are limited so don't miss out and get yours today!
