Outright Gifts (Cash) Why not make your charitable giving easy? Gifts of cash are the simplest and most common form of donation. You may donate monthly or annually for a set number of years. A receipt is issued for the full amount, creating a tax savings in the gift year. Your donation today will help us continue building caring, compassionate communities. Click here to make a donation now! Gifts of Stocks/Securities Listed securities are non-deferred gifts, which are used to benefit the agency. There are tax advantages to gifting the securities directly as opposed to liquidating and donating the proceeds. With the recent removal of the capital gains tax, there's never been a better been a better time to take advantage of the tax savings. New tax laws allow Canadians to transfer publicly traded securities to The AIDS Network without paying the capital gains tax. Charitable Bequests Incorporating The AIDS Network into your will is a lasting way to show your commitment to the movement in AIDS prevention, education and support. A bequest is a specific dollar amount or percentage of an estate that is left to The AIDS Network in your will. This is the easiest and most popular form of deferred gift. Special tax advantages could significantly reduce the tax payable on the final tax return. Click here for sample bequest forms. Gifts of Life Insurance Making a gift of life insurance helps you make a lager gift than circumstances would normally allow. You can transfer ownership of a paid or existing policy or purchase a new policy (naming The AIDS Network as the owner and beneficiary). Depending on the type of policy, you could receive a tax receipt for the face value and for each premium paid in the future.
