About Us / Donor Bill of Rights
The AIDS Network values their donors. It is within that framework that donors to The AIDS Network can expect the following:
- To be informed of the organization's mission, of the way the organization intends to use donated resources and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
- To be informed of the identity of those serving on the organization's governing board and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
- To receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition.
- To be assured that information about their donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
- To be informed, when requested, whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the organization or hired solicitors.
- To have the opportunity for their names to be omitted from mailing lists or other information items at the donor's request.
- To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
- As a stakeholder, the donor has the right to be kept abreast, when requested, as to the overall health and direction of the agency including the strategic plan.
- Expect that The AIDS Network will invest in financial development initiatives and programs that have a high likelihood of success and potential high benefit/cost ratio.
